I struggled to sleep due to sounds from other guests and the rattling doors. Also, the shared bathrooms could benefit from updates for a more comfortable experience. The breakfast was simple, which could be improved with some variety. Overall, I appreciated the atmosphere and amenities but faced issues that could be addressed for future guests.

The traditional building had tatami rooms that made our stay feel authentic. We enjoyed exploring nearby attractions and had fun relaxing in the onsen. The owner was super friendly, even giving us umbrellas when it rained while we collected our bags.

The Atami Onsen Guest House Megumi offers a fantastic location, especially during the fireworks festival in mid-July, where the rooftop terrace provides excellent views. The private rooms are simple but comfortable, and sharing bathrooms never posed an inconvenience. I appreciate the availability of a business center which was useful for work-related tasks during my stay.

The Iberian bites from nearby spots like Irorichaya and Aibana were culinary gold! Add in the rooftop terrace where I basked in stunning views during the fireworks festival and the clean, cozy common room with a personal onsen, and it turned into a fantastic adventure.

But, oh boy, that sliding door didn’t just rattle. it felt like it wanted to join the party, and with laughter echoing until 2:30 AM, sleep became a rare luxury. Don’t forget, the ‘all-inclusive' breakfast comes with extras that add up. The steep entry gave our journey a bit of a slippery twist!

Just a suitable option for a getaway in Atami, great for the money. I appreciated having access to the small onsen after a long day. Be cautious of the steep entrance if it’s wet out.
